Last May 17-18, 2017 Gov. Jim Hataman Salliman and the Province were visiterd by Hon. Pryce Henry Teves, Mayor of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental. Mayor Teves was accompanied by some of his LGU Officiasl and cooperative Officers.
The launching of the enhanced school of living traditions (SLT) on May 11, 2017 marked the start of the 5-year Program implementation of the School of Living Tradition in Basilan located at Kud Pasangen, Binuangan, Isabela City (a YAKAN COMMUNITY recently established). It was initiated by the designated Local Project Coordinators Mr. Ammalun. A. Salahuddin in response to the call of cultural Preservation as mandated by RA 7356, an Act Creating National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Establishing a National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts (NEFCA), and for Other purposes. Its mandate is to conserve and promote the nations historical and cultural heritage, to preserve and intergrade traditional culture and its various creative expressions as a dynamic part of the national cultural mainstream and to encourage a continuing and balance development of pluralistic culture by the people to conserve and promote the nations cultural heritage.
The provincial Government of Basilan thru the Human Resource Development Program of Governor Jim S. Hataman Salliman had launched the second (2nd) Oath Taking Ceremony last May 11, 2017, at the Provincial Governor’s Office. The Governor had appointed four (4) new employees that includes two (2) Doctors, Dr. Jeiti Anne P. Veloso, Medical Officer V,Dr. Aileen M. Bravo, Medical Officer V, both of Lamitan District Hospital, Ms. Minsara Muarip Bael, PDO IV, of the Provincial Planning and Development Office. She has been an employee of the City Tourism Office, City of Isabela and lastly Ms. Bernadette Tantoco, LRCO III, Provincial Treasurer’s Office. Ms. Tantaco was previously an employee of the Development Bank of the Philippines.

Hataman Salliman, had launched the First Oath Taking Ceremony, last May 9, 2017, at the Provincial Governors Office, as initiated by the Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Officer Hji. Manny C. Muarip.Governor Salliman had appointed Three (3) Provincial Department Heads, Engr. Nelson A. Akmadol as Provincial Planning and Development Officer, Hji. Manny C. Muarip, Provincial Human Resource management and Development Officer and Mr. Nixon Alonzo, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer.It is the noble desire of our development-oriented Governor to push through with his plans and programs for the province unhampered. The three deserving new Department heads had taken their oath before Governor Salliman and sworn to take their responsibility with utmost effectiveness and sincerity.
